Average Rating:
Rating: - My favorite teen magazine!
I think I have had subscriptions to just about every teen magazine in the sun at one point in time or another. (Teen, Teen People, YM, Seventeen, All about you, Twist, Guidepost for teens, Brio... and or course, CosmoGirl) I can honestly say that this is the BEST teen magazine I have ever read. It has more articles that I can relate too, and it's not so much about how you look, and more about how you feel about yourself. The editors of this magazine really encourage having a good self-image. The articles make you think, and a lot of them are very original. (As opposed to a lot of the other teen magazines.) But since it is in the same family as COSMO, it still has plenty of hot guys, fashion, good buys, and advice columns. This magazine really does have it all and most teenage girls would love it! I definately do. (By the way, I have had a subscription to this magazine since the 2nd issue- and I've kept every one of them!)
Rating: - You Go Girl (Cosmo Girl that is)
The parental side - I am 20 years old and I read regular Cosmo as well as Cosmo Girl. I love this magazine though. It has great advice and a different aproach to getting what you want in life. (It often shows girls ways to start thier own businesses and be successful). And a lot of this "go get'um" mentality I believe comes from Cosmo Girl's incredible editor, Atoosa, who is constantly sharing pictures and stories of the trouble she had when she was growing up. The teen side- This magazine also has great advice on boys and school. The fashion portion is no dud either and there are lots of stickers of your favorite boy bands. It's a great magazine for girls that need a positive role model (Atoosa Rocks)
Rating: - Good, well-rounded magazine...
Most teen magazines seem to focus on a certain topic--fashion, makeup, guys, etc.. CosmoGirl! does not. I was very pleased to see that they have a variety of topics in their magazines, and it's stuff that pertains to the average girl. It explains things that are important to us and that we find interesting--advice that we actually want to get, fun ways to change your wardrobe and makeup, interviews with stars that we're interested in, ritual of the month, and so on. I recommmend this book to any girl who wants to find an fun magazine with less ads and more info that the average.
